Cool Drinks is a family-owned dirty soda shop in Calgary, inspired by our family's Australian roots.
Our story begins with our youngest daughter wanting to start a family business. She asked if we could create something together. She wanted something we could grow and work on as a family. And we all said yes!
Mom always loved creating dirty sodas at parties and family get-togethers. So, she suggested a dirty soda shop! Her dad grew up in Perth, Australia, and they used to call pop a “cool drink”. Grandpa came to Canada in 1969 and made Calgary his home, with Grandma who grew up in Calgary. We all decided to honour our Aussie roots and create our shop around that!
Our drinks have names from places, animals, foods and experiences that connect with Australia. Even our pricing is Aussie: we include tax in all our prices, as that's the Aussie way. Our youngest daughter created our store logo, our oldest daughter manages our store, and our sons work with us and have helped with drink creations and names. Dad is the business guy and Mom is the creative and chatty one.
